Gel Polish

What is the difference between Gel Polish and Shellac?

Shellac is just a brand name of gel polish.

What is gel polish?

Gel polish is a type of polish that is cured in a UV/LED lamp and dries immediately. It provides more strength than regular polish and is designed to last 2 weeks.

How often should I come to have my gel polish reapplied?

We recommend coming every 2 weeks to have your gel polish removed properly and reapplied.

What is the removal process?

We buff down the gel manicure to remove the top coat, apply removal pads soaked in acetone to the nails, and leave for approximately 10-15 minutes. This ensures there is no damage to your natural nails. Please DO NOT pick, pry, or peel the polish off as this will damage the natural nail.

How do I get my gel polish to last longer?

After getting your gel manicure, here are a few tips to prolonging it until your next appointment:

  • Use a cuticle oil or cream at least once a day

  • Use gloves when washing dishes/using cleaning products

  • Avoid picking your gel off (even if it chips a little, either come have it removed or leave it until your next appointment, prying at chipped polish can damage your natural nails.
